The Angels’ Story

A Christmas Play for Children
By

CCLI # 7066755
This play combines traditional Christmas Carols, sung by performers and audience, with dramatic presentations by any number of children Its emphasis is not so much on telling the Christmas Story as on placing that familiar story in the context of God’s plan of salvation. By hearing the story from the angels’ perspective, we are offered a glimpse of eternity and the central place Jesus’ birth holds for all time in fulfilling God’s purpose to redeem mankind.
The play may be performed by as few as seven performers or as many as fifty. The forty four angel speaking parts may be assigned to as few or as many children as wish to take part, or may be presented as a dialogue between just two of the heavenly host. Some lines consist of as little as two or three words, others are more exacting in their message and complexity. Parts should be assigned accordingly.
